Over the next few days/months, I will take you through a journey of the english game of cricket largely popular in India. I will be trying to explain stuff using images and maybe (If I can get hold of) videos. I know that just the textual knowledge is not sufficient to learn a sport, but atleast I am guessing, you will have an idea as to how it is played. Read the rest of this entry »

I woke up early today and it was almost 9 in the morning. I did not feel like getting out of bed but still I did. I kinda had a small pain in my neck as I woke up and it bothered me for quite some time. I sat on my bed thinking about the day ahead. I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth and I was so disappointed that my room mate was in the bathroom. In the meantime, I ate some cereal (apple jacks) with some 2% milk and it tasted so good. I love that combination. Finally, after 10 minutes, my room mate came out of the bathroom and he didn’t even say hi to me. Read the rest of this entry »

“Saturday Night Live,” opened their show tonight with Al Gore addressing the nation as if he was the President of the United States. Gore was focused and quite funny in this entertaining spoof of the current administration and their long range of failures. He also struck back at the media (update: when they claimed he said he invented the ‘internets’) by saying that he invented an “Anti-Hurricane and Tornado Machine.” Read the rest of this entry »

I think the concept on Myspace is really cool that you can have friends online and maintain friendships even if you don’t talk to them. I like everything about myspace except those cheesy ads where they have Bush competing against somebody else in a race of some sort. When I have my myspace window open, I can see the player who is supposed to be me losing. I hate losing, so I start playing all those games. The worst part is that even if you win, they just start over. Read the rest of this entry »

I am probably 99.99% sure that you are reading this article sitting in front of your computer. If nobody is around you, raise your hand if you are sick of the perverted ads that you are forced to see while using myspace. I am. I hate those ads.
Anyways, Paul says that we should be in the world but not of the world. So even if we use myspace, we shouldn’t be drawn to what we see that are sexual in nature. But there are a band of Christ followers who think otherwise. They have created a web site, very similar to myspace called Christ Union and guess what, its only for Christ followers. I have been following up Net Neutrality amendment for the past couple weeks on one of my blogs. In a one line summary, it is an ammendment that was supported by democrats to support neutrality on the web. Some broadband providers are providing higher speeds to some websites that pay them well. This causes partiality on the web. The websites which have more financial backing are successful as compared to good content websites. I have even set up an online petition which has around 4000 signatures so far. Here is a list of house representatives who voted in the recent net neutrality amendment. See where the Ohio representative stands on this issue. Read the rest of this entry »

As some / most of you know, I am going to India with Apex in a month for a couple weeks. Past saturday we had our first group meeting. It was very early in the morning and I was hoping to stay awake the whole time but the things that took place introduced a stomach ache due to excessive laughing.
While we are discussing about the things that happen in India, one of the girls who is going on the India trip, Tracy W seriously said this – “I have heard that monkeys are trained to steal from people”. The whole group burst into laughter and the laughter transformed into a series of remarks made towards monkeys. From then on, every sentence ended with a monkey or had a monkey somewhere in it. Another comment that she made was “curry soda”. I have no clue where she got it from but I thought it was funny. While Jason made fun of me with curry at his wedding rehearsal, this curry soda brought back some memories Read the rest of this entry »
